Tariffs & More - The Feng Shui POV
Right now, in the midst of all the Trump’s tariffs and the constantly changing world economic situation, many people are asking if NOW is the best time for them to get into the market. Buy low, sell high, isn’t it? For those already in the market and able to withstand this financial storm, perhaps you want to hold and then wait for the rebound. It is based on your own financial commitment and judgement.
Understanding the link between the Feng Shui 5 Elements might be able to shed some light on the financial situation now and what’s next. You might have a clearer perspective and able to plan your next course of action.

In terms of Feng Shui, I would think that the worst has yet to come yet. This year 2025 is the year of the Wood Snake. In our technical jargon is what we call the 乙巳年. 乙is the Wood element.巳 is the Snake and is of Fire element. As you can see from this 5 Elements chart, Wood and Fire is generative, i.e. Wood is the fuel for the fire.
This year, Fire is the strong dominant energy with fuel boost. Everything is about balance. When the Elements are not in balance, there is instability or even chaos.
From the chart, you can see that Fire restrains Metal. When the fire is too strong, it can literally melt Metal, so Metal is weakened. This means that the trades and industries related to Metal will be on a weaker side. We refer to the financial industry as “金融” in Chinese, meaning “Gold Circulation”. That tells you that the Finance industry is of Metal element.
While we already know that 2025 is weak in terms of financial market performance, we still need to consider the 土 Earth element. If the Earth element is strong, it can provide the much-needed energy to support the Metal element. If the Metal element is weak, it will be nourished by the Earth element. Therefore, the real danger is when the Earth element is weak and unable to provide support for the Metal element. That will be the time the financial market will tumble even further.
Since last October, from my CNY talks to consultation sessions, I have been sharing on the possible major upheaval events in 2025 due to the unstable Earth element. The imminent danger of next Big earthquake (particularly in the East Asia region) has been shared by many experts this year. The Myanmar earthquake that preceded the current global selloff is just a preview to what’s coming next.
Being accurate in prediction is meaningless unless you can make use of the information to protect yourself and your family or make use of the current crisis/opportunity (危机) to emerge even stronger.
